Plot

Okja is a South Korean-American action-adventure film directed by Bong Joon-ho. The story revolves around Mija, a young girl living in the South Korean countryside who forms a close and heartwarming bond with a genetically engineered, massive pig-like creature called Okja. The two share a idyllic life until the multinational conglomerate, the Mirando Corporation, reclaims Okja as part of their plan to promote a new meat product.

Determined to save her beloved friend from the cruel fate of being turned into food, Mija embarks on a perilous journey to New York City, where she gets caught up in the world of animal rights activists and corporate greed. The film is a blend of dark satire and heartwarming storytelling that sheds light on the ethics of the meat industry, the consequences of corporate power, and the enduring love between a girl and her extraordinary animal companion.

Okja is a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant film that challenges viewers to consider the ethical and environmental implications of their choices.
