Plot

I Saw the Devil is a South Korean psychological thriller directed by Kim Jee-woon. The film follows Kim Soo-hyun, a secret agent, who embarks on a relentless and gruesome quest for vengeance after his fiancée becomes the victim of a sadistic serial killer named Kyung-chul.

Rather than killing Kyung-chul, Soo-hyun chooses to inflict immense pain and fear on him repeatedly, releasing him only to exact his revenge again. As the lines between the hunter and the hunted blur, the film delves into the dark psychology of both characters.

I Saw the Devil is an unrelenting and violent exploration of revenge, morality, and the descent into madness. It raises questions about the nature of evil and the price one is willing to pay for retribution. The film is known for its intense and brutal sequences and its unflinching portrayal of the human capacity for cruelty.
