Plot

Who Am I is a German techno-thriller film directed by Baran bo Odar. The story follows Benjamin, a socially awkward computer whiz who, along with his group of outcast friends, becomes obsessed with hacking and cyber activism. They form a hacking group called CLAY (Clowns Laughing @ You) and start carrying out high-profile cyber-attacks on influential individuals and organizations.

As their hacks gain notoriety, Benjamin becomes known as “Agent X” in the online hacking community. The group’s actions lead to a cat-and-mouse game with law enforcement, as a cybercrime investigator named Hanne Lindberg tries to track them down.

The film explores themes of identity, anonymity, and the consequences of one’s online actions. It delves into the psychological toll that hacking and cyber warfare can have on individuals and raises questions about the blurred lines between the virtual and real worlds. “Who Am I” is a suspenseful and visually stylish thriller that keeps the audience guessing until the final reveal.
