In the Fade is a German drama directed by Fatih Akin. The film follows Katja Sekerci, played by Diane Kruger, a woman whose life is shattered when her husband Nuri and young son Rocco are killed in a bomb attack targeting people of Turkish descent. As she grapples with grief, Katja seeks justice and faces the legal system.

When the investigation points towards neo-Nazi extremists, the courtroom drama unfolds as Katja confronts the complexities of the German legal system and her own quest for retribution. The film explores themes of grief, racism, and the impact of terrorism on individuals and communities.

Diane Kruger’s powerful performance earned her the Best Actress award at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. In the Fade is a poignant and thought-provoking film that navigates the emotional and moral aftermath of a devastating act of violence.
