Plot

Taxi Driver, directed by Martin Scorsese, is a dark and iconic film that follows the life of Travis Bickle (played by Robert De Niro), a mentally unstable Vietnam War veteran who becomes a night-shift taxi driver in gritty, crime-ridden New York City. Isolated and disturbed by the city’s moral decay, Travis becomes increasingly unhinged and alienated from society.

Travis’ obsession with a young prostitute named Iris (Jodie Foster) leads him to a vigilante mission to rescue her from her pimp. He modifies his taxi into a weapon and embarks on a violent spree, culminating in a shocking and bloody confrontation.

Taxi Driver is a character study of a man teetering on the edge of insanity, exploring themes of urban alienation, violence, and the search for redemption. The film’s iconic “You talkin’ to me?” scene has become a cinematic classic. It’s a gritty and thought-provoking exploration of one man’s descent into madness and vigilantism.
