Plot
Saltburn is a darkly satirical psychological thriller that explores obsession, privilege, and the seductive allure of wealth. The story follows Oliver Quick, a socially awkward student at Oxford who feels out of place among the elite. His life changes when he befriends Felix Catton, a charming and wealthy aristocrat who invites him to spend the summer at his sprawling family estate, Saltburn. Once inside this lavish but eccentric household, Oliver becomes fascinated by Felix’s lifestyle and family dynamics. The Cattons, with their wealth, eccentricities, and hidden vulnerabilities, open a door into a world Oliver has never experienced. However, as the summer unfolds, the atmosphere grows increasingly unsettling. Obsession, desire, and deceit blur the lines between admiration and manipulation. With its mix of gothic undertones and biting social commentary, Saltburn examines how far one will go to belong, and the dangerous consequences of envy and desire.
