Plot

In Prisoners (2013), the gripping thriller directed by Denis Villeneuve, Keller Dover’s (Hugh Jackman) worst nightmare becomes a reality when his six-year-old daughter, Anna, and her friend, Joy, go missing on Thanksgiving Day. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that was parked on their street. Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) arrests the driver, Alex Jones (Paul Dano), but lack of evidence forces his release. As days pass and the police pursue multiple leads, Dover, driven by desperation and rage, takes matters into his own hands. He kidnaps Alex, convinced he knows the girls’ whereabouts, and subjects him to brutal interrogations in a hidden location. The moral and psychological boundaries blur as Dover’s relentless quest for justice and Loki’s investigation unfold, revealing dark secrets and testing their limits. The film delves deep into themes of faith, justice, and the lengths one will go to for loved ones.
