Plot

The Big Lebowski follows Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski, an easygoing, unemployed bowler who gets embroiled in a case of mistaken identity. When two thugs break into his apartment, mistaking him for a wealthy man named Jeffrey Lebowski, The Dude seeks compensation. He visits the other Lebowski, a wheelchair-bound millionaire, to demand recompense for a rug they ruined. However, he’s drawn into a complex kidnapping plot involving the millionaire’s wife, Bunny, and a ransom demand. Alongside his bowling buddies, Walter and Donny, The Dude navigates a bizarre underworld populated by eccentric characters like pornographers, nihilists, and artists. As the chaos unfolds, The Dude’s laid-back attitude clashes with the absurdity of the situations he finds himself in. Fueled by White Russians and a love for bowling, The Dude stumbles through the mystery, eventually uncovering the truth while maintaining his signature “abide” philosophy amidst the chaos of Los Angeles.
