Plot

Ethan Kopek is a young TSA officer at LAX who’s lost some hope after being rejected from the police academy—much of this grief touches back to his father’s criminal history. On Christmas Eve, with his pregnant girlfriend Nora pushing him to reapply, Ethan shifts to a baggage-scanning lane to prove himself. The night turns dark when a mysterious figure, known only as The Traveler, forces Ethan via an earbud to permit one specific carry-on bag to pass through security—or his girlfriend dies. Ethan tries to alert the authorities, but The Traveler’s accomplice, The Watcher, thwarts him at every move, monitoring him remotely. When Ethan’s colleague Lionel is poisoned, stakes escalate. Ethan manages to flag the suspect passenger, Mateo Flores, yet discovers the bag holds Novichok, a lethal nerve agent. As all terminals shut down, Ethan races to stop the disaster. With time running out, he infiltrates the plane’s cargo hold to disarm the threat, confronts The Traveler, and ultimately saves many lives, though not without sacrifice. A year later, Ethan is in the LAPD, with Nora and their new baby in tow.
