Plot

Lady Macbeth is a gripping drama set in 19th-century rural England. It follows Katherine, a young woman trapped in a loveless marriage to Alexander, a cold, abusive man twice her age. Stifled by her oppressive surroundings, Katherine begins an affair with Sebastian, a spirited stable hand. Their passionate romance awakens Katherine’s latent desire for freedom and control. As their relationship intensifies, Katherine’s actions grow increasingly ruthless. She poisons Alexander, silencing his tyrannical presence, and then eliminates anyone threatening to expose her crimes, including her step-grandfather Boris and a servant girl, Anna. Each act of violence steers Katherine further into a moral abyss. Ultimately, Katherine’s ruthlessness secures her power but at the cost of her humanity.
